Each story holds a different arrival and distinct experience, but still has the same powerful impact on the legacies of Seafarers. Many date back to over a century, like Ms. Journeaux. In 1886, Louisa Journeaux was separated from a rowboat and lost at sea at the young age of 22. Although she was adrift at sea, she was thankfully rescued, eventually landing in St. John’s, Newfoundland, at St. Georges Bay. Her arrival was filled with joy and she had deep gratitude, leading her to share and publish her story, being a vivid example of faith and aid at Newfoundland’s port.
